Those prospective international students considering enrolling in IMCTS, we appreciate that you may be concerned about the effects of the recent earthquake and tsunami. Please be assured, however, that Sapporo was not affected by what happened in Tohoku. All planned classes and academic activates starting on the 1st of April this year are on schedule and are unaffected in any way. Below is a message from the Sapporo Municipal Government.
"As of the 1st of April, there have been no human or property damage reports in connection with events surrounding the 2011/3/11 Tohoku Earthquake."

Sapporo is situated over 600km away from the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant. According to the Japan Government's Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) "Reading of Environmental Radioactivity Level by Prefecture", Sapporo City had a reading of 0.028μSv/h on the 16th of March.
