The focus of this seminar is on ethical issues and procedures for researchers when conducting fieldwork with minority and vulnerable peoples. Graduate students encouraged to attend, especially those who might work with disadvantaged people as part of their future research. Participants are invited to bring along any questions or considerations they would like addressed in relation to ethical fieldwork practices in research.
本セミナーでは、マイノリティ及び弱い立場にある人々とともにフィールドワークを行う際に研究者にとって必要となる倫理上の問題や手続きについて焦点を当てます。大学院生、とくに将来、不利な立場にある人々とともに研究をする可能性のある院生の皆さんに参加をお勧めします。参加される方はぜひ、研究における倫理上のフィールド実践について触れてほしいと思う事柄や質問を会場でなさってください。



This seminar is designed as a discussion group in which Heather Bowe (Monash University in Melbourne); Waka Aoyama (RFMC); Jeff Gayman (RFMC) & Kylie Martin (RFMC) will firstly discuss some of their experiences in working with minority and/or indigenous groups in their research. Following these introductions, the audience will be invited to bring up topics for discussion on ethical and moral issues when conducting fieldwork with minority and disadvantaged peoples.

本セミナーでは、初めにディスカッション・グループとして、メルボルンのモナシュ大学のヘザー・ボー、北海道大学大学院メディア・コミュニケーション研究院の青山和佳、ジェフ・ゲーマン、カイリー・マーティンがそれぞれの研究においてマイノリティや先住民集団と調査をしてきた経験について議論します。
その後、聴衆の皆さまからも論点を出していただき、マイノリティや不利な立場にある人々とともにフィールドワークを行う際に求められる倫理的、道徳的な諸問題について議論する予定です。
